DECOMPOSITION

Bruce’s latest book, written early on in our Covid experience, is widely endorsed by a range of thinkers, leaders, scholars, readers, and authors, and addresses the beauty that remains even as life “decomposes” in front of us. Over time or in a moment, as he demonstrates, life can implode, and nothing is the same. The overarching truth in his work is the ever-present reality of beauty which is redemptive.

He takes readers to places intellectually and emotionally very few authors dare to go.

Illness, contagion, war, loss, broken dreams, decaying relationships; they all bring decomposition into our lives. There, beneath the soil of sorrow, life arises and beauty emerges in ways we could not expect.

Pulling from history, his own life, and even narratives from the world of art, Bruce’s writing is one of depth and deep emotional connection. In a rare balanced approach, he wrestles constructively with the cultural and political turmoil we are all living through in this age of rage.  He demonstrates, even here, hope can emerge, and beauty can save us.

Bruce’s writing, for decades now, has been highly endorsed by prominent university scholars, political leaders, social commentators, theologians, and professional reviewers.

He writes, “I offer this work…for all of those who have and are suffering, …we are on the same journey”.

From Covid ground zero to the front lines of Vietnam, from the pundits’ platforms to the emotional and relational wreckage of his own story, quoting the likes of Bob Dlyan, philosophers, prophets, and poets, Bruce weaves beautiful writing into the story of beauty itself.
